2010 Tyler Public Sector Excellence Awards Winners - Incode Courts / Tyler Public Safety
City of Irmo Police Department, SC
Award Category: Organizational Productivity
The scenic town of Irmo, South Carolina, is about 10 miles outside of Columbia, South Carolina’s capital. Like any growing enterprise, local governments find themselves trying to do more with fewer resources – and the Town of Irmo is no exception. Brian Buck, Irmo’s Police Chief, knew that there had to be a way to leverage technology to save money and space on paper tickets and save the labor costs of a process that impacted so many different people in the local government. Recognizing that they needed a new technology vendor, Chief Buck looked to leverage the existing relationship the Town’s financials and court divisions had with Tyler Technologies. They ultimately landed on the Tyler Public Safety solution including Tyler’s Records Management System, which not only integrated with the Town, but with the National Crime Information Center and Nlets public safety network through a unique interface via the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (TLETS).
