Financial Reporting Manager

In this role, you would perform various financial reporting services for the Appraisal & Tax division of Tyler Technologies. You would add value to our organization by providing financial planning, forecasting, and analysis while consulting with senior and executive management. Our ideal candidate has significant public accounting experience and is enthusiastic about solving complex financial issues, including an interest in international payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed financial management and analysis
  • Assist in the planning, preparation and analysis of division business plans
  • Analyze financial revenues, costs (including cost to completes), results and other related information to make recommendations and/or changes to improve business operations
  • Manage the ongoing budget and forecasting process
  • Provide biweekly, quarterly and annual reports to senior management including financial projections and operating performance
  • Identify and propose solutions to financial risk areas and areas performing below expectations.
  • Support internal controls across the business and participate in internal control testing
  • Assist and prepare cost and evaluation information for contracts and potential investments as needed (due diligence)
  • Manage bonus and commission calculations, approvals and processing
  • Oversee receivables and partners with senior leadership on collection efforts
  • Collaborate with third party vendors, clients, auditors, government officials and other parties on financial items
  • Oversee Canadian payroll operations and provide back up support on payroll reconciliation and related financial statements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, and/or other professional role with a focus on data, budget, financial planning and analysis
  • 5 years of accounting experience (preferably in public accounting) with a proficient understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Strong interpersonal skills involving the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control and reporting
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proven leadership ability and significant communication skills to gain the confidence of executives
  • Strong influence, negotiation and presentation skills, including the ability communicate clearly and concisely to non-financial parties and senior and executive management
  • Advanced analysis and problem resolution and financial modeling skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and report on complex financial issues, form projections, determine risks. and propose viable solutions
  • Advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Ability to mentor and/or supervise others.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Preferred candidate traits

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other related post-graduate degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) FP&A, or related certification
  • Familiarity with Epicor and/or Softrax and/or other financial reporting software and tools is a plus.
