Marketing/Internal Communication Specialist

Do you love to write, share information, and connect with different groups across the country? Tyler’s corporate communications team is seeking a communications specialist to develop high quality communication for employees, and serve the marketing needs of our HR departments across the country to support recruiting and communication. This role works with Tyler’s intranet and special projects, and helps drive the execution of Tyler’s voice, tone and style in internal communication and external recruiting efforts. In this position, you will have the opportunity to engage with all areas of the company, support new internal communication campaigns, and work within a creative and high producing marketing department.

Responsibilities

  • Produce clear, concise and engaging content that meets communications objectives
  • Conduct background research and interviews, and author insightful and engaging internal news stories, informational articles and other written materials as needed
  • Research, develop and write internal communication announcements for all staff as needed, including those related to organizational changes, retirements/senior-level new hires/promotions, human resources initiatives, etc.
  • Oversee the distribution of intranet content push emails, proofing and layout of stories
  • Analyze Google Analytics data with web designer to determine effectiveness of intranet publications and areas for improvement
  • Work on a variety of communications projects such as employee handbook, quarterly performance communications, benefits summary brochure, interview guide, etc.
  • Follow consistent style standards, helping to maintain Tyler’s style guidelines and proofreading practices.
  • Develop innovative ways to communicate recruiting messages via integrated marketing programs that include direct mail, email, web, video, collateral, and that support job fairs and events.
  • Write copy with appropriate style and tone to suit the channel and audience.
  • Effectively interact with internal clients, as appropriate, to determine requirements and design programs that meet initiative objectives.
  • Obtain information by interviewing, or requesting such information from necessary parties including internal division subject matter experts, or clients.

Qualifications

  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree desired
  • 5-10 years writing experience required
  • Exceptional project management and time management skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to generate ideas, analyze information and make decisions
  • Possess a flair for the creative
  • Knowledge of photo editing and multimedia programs desired
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
