Product Manager

The Product Manager is responsible for the business results of the Odyssey Courts and Justice products as they relate to a defined product under the guidance of the Product Director. This responsibility will exist throughout the product life cycle from idea through development, launch, operation and end of product life as it pertains to the defined product areas.

Responsibilities

  • Creates phased plans and strategies to achieve the product objectives as related to the product area or initiative, including regularly published product roadmaps that articulate the product direction to both internal departments and external customers.
  • Builds supporting materials that can clearly communicate a module/product’s benefits and details necessary for delivery teams to implement.
  • Helps prioritize Tyler investment work by summarizing factual data that describes a feature/module’s effort complexity and value proposition.
  • Maintains an awareness of their product’s competitive set in the marketplace.
  • Works collaboratively with Development to provide appropriate direction and constructive feedback so that new product features align with division objectives.
  • Ensures that good usability principles and current technologies are incorporated into new features.
  • Seeks key problems to be solved, simplifies definition of those problems, generates viable options for resolution and gains agreement with stakeholders on a move forward solution.
  • Proactively manages product creation from inception to distribution, including but not limited to ensuring appropriate documentation is disseminated, collecting feedback from delivery teams and clients, and resolving/elevating issues to senior management that prevent the feature/product from gaining adoption in the marketplace.
  • Provides sales and marketing support by assisting in responding to RFPs as well as potentially performing on-site sales and client conference demonstrations.
  • Is empathic to the challenges of other departments and works with them to find a “win/win” solution.
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent technical experience is required.
  • Experience with full product development life cycle from inception through delivery preferred.
  • Experience working in/with Scrum teams using an Agile methodology preferred.
  • One to three years product management experience or a complement of roles that support product knowledge, client needs, and industry trends related to the assigned product area and/or one to two years’ experience as an Associate Product Owner.
  • Strong presentation skills, including experience having independently presented to the senior management level.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, teamwork and customer service skills.

Tyler is subject to regulations, guidelines and/or client requirements relating to the qualifications of Tyler personnel performing certain client work. Because of the nature of this position, it is a requirement that the candidate can successfully pass a federal background check at the time an offer is extended and over the course of employment with Tyler.
