QA Analyst

The QA Analyst is ultimately responsible for verifying applications meet the quality standards established by the development department. The QA Analyst must deliver concise yet detailed test cases for use during application testing and must pursue any and all defects that arise during the SDLC. Additionally, the QA analyst is responsible for the creation of regression test cases for new project development, modifying existing regression scripts, and notifying the responsible parties when changes to test scripts have been made.

  • Create test cases for new product features and project development for use during application testing.
  • Create API and automated tests.
  • Review, edit & execute existing test case scripts.
  • Review, edit & execute regression test case scripts.
  • Report software deficiencies in Jira defect tracking tool.
  • Contributes to the software development process.
  • Notify responsible parties when changes to test scripts have been made.
  • Pursue any and all defects that arise during the SDLC
    • Perform gray box testing.
  • Test software during each phase & document results.
  • Perform other job-related duties & responsibilities as assigned.


  • BS/BA degree required or equivalent technology experience.
    • Solid understanding of a software project lifecycle and associated methodologies required.
    • 3 + years of previous QA testing experience required.
  • 3 + years of Automated or API testing required.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and comfortable working with SQL required.
    • 3 + years of defect tracking software experience required.
    • 3 + years of Windows experience required.
    • 3 + years of Microsoft Office experience required.
    • Proficient in Excel required.
  • Technical competencies that include coding and/or scripting skills required.
  • Experience with test case management tools required.
  • Knowledge of Agile & SCRUM preferred.
  • Experience with defect tracking tool – preferably JIRA.
    • Proficient with XML preferred.
    • Knowledge of Agile & SCRUM preferred.
    • Excellent problem solving skills and analytical skills.
  • Fast learner of new tools and technologies.
  • Self-starter requiring minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Understanding of local county government business processes a plus.
