Technical Services IT Analyst

The IT Analyst is responsible for ensuring that advances in current and new technology related to Tyler products are successfully introduced, maintained and supported. The IT Analyst will research and test advances in technology products, then transitions knowledge to the appropriate Tyler business units.

  • Provide second-tier support for technology products and work directly with Tyler staff to resolve issues.
  • Maintain advances in existing and new technology products including: research and testing, developing installation instructions and scripts, and effectively transitioning that information to internal business units.
  • Assess upgrade and deployment considerations that need to be examined as new products are brought into the Tyler application and system environment.
  • Research and test new releases of Tyler technology products and third party applications for compatibility with various hardware and operating system platforms.
  • Conduct internal training on installation and technological advances with new or current products.
  • Establish good working relationships with all Tyler departments and clients.


  • Stay current on new technology from an industry IT perspective as well as internal product advancements.
  • Work independently on high priority issues and new technology projects and utilize available resources to complete these demands.
  • Manage multiple tasks and notify appropriate management when necessary.
  • Assess Technical Support’s training/education needs and provide the needed training and/or documentation.
  • Work with Technical Support on issues that require advanced troubleshooting or solutions.
  • Work with Development, passing information to and from other teams. The Specialist is also responsible for taking Development’s ideas and trying to make them work in actual production environments.
  • Work with Release Management to ensure that the installation packages get created, refined and updated when necessary.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with a wide range of clients, both internal and external, from technical to non-technical and from management to clerical.
  • Adapt to changing product and environments; eliminate team knowledge gaps in legacy, current and future products and services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or comparable work experience.
  • Experience administering systems on various platforms (UNIX, Linux, and Windows) and databases (Informix, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Basic understanding of XML Web Services and .NET technology.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player and as an individual contributor.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude.
