Improving Efficiency During Winter Storm

Major winter storms can create massive issues for law enforcement agencies trying to answer a large influx of calls and physically get to the locations of people calling for help. The Calvert County Emergency Communications Center in Maryland had a surprise 10-12 inches of snow, causing chaos within its community, resulting in car accidents, trees and power lines down, and road closures.

In this video, Timothy Biscoe, communications supervisor with the Calvert County Emergency Communications Center, explains how they used map events within Enterprise CAD to navigate through this storm, meeting the needs of those calling for help and even improving efficiency by allowing all dispatchers, officers, and fire crews see what was going on in real-time on one cohesive map.
