Unemployment Insurance Fraud

Unfortunately, as COVID-19 (the coronavirus) continues to spread and disrupt the economy, employment, and all aspects of our daily lives, cybercriminals are using it to their advantage. With an unprecedented number of unemployment claims in the last few months, all 50 states are subsequently seeing a sharp increase in unemployment insurance fraud and identity theft.

This means cybercriminals are stealing personally identifiable information (PII) and using it to fraudulently apply for unemployment benefits. The scammers hope they can make off with some money before they are found out. It's reported that millions of dollars have already been lost in recent attacks.

This session will show you what to look out for and what to do if you are the victim of this type of fraud. Veteran Social Engineer Max Greene will share some valuable tips based on his own experience in dealing with unemployment insurance fraud.
