Your Background: A former co-worker told me about ExecuTime (prior to the Tyler acquisition). I was put in contact with two team members from ExecuTime. I interviewed with them and began my career as a project manager in September 2008. Currently, I’m the senior project manager lead, where I oversee 19 or more enterprise-wide projects. I manage each implementation from kick off to go live. We also mentor and advise other staff in project management processes.
Best Thing About Working at Tyler: I've always enjoyed seeing the outcome of the implementations I managed. I love watching clients transform their fear to positive energy, realizing they are putting the responsibility of time tracking in their users' hands and making "payroll life" easier. I have the opportunity to work with a pretty awesome team from support, technical services, advanced scheduling, development, and management. We really have a great group of hard workers, and for me, that's what makes work-life balance enjoyable.
Advice for a New Employee: I would have to say commitment, communication, and teamwork are the most important skills. It’s also important to know how to read others and their different learning styles.
