About the Authors

Casey Rousell

Casey Roussel has over 18 years of experience in both the Public Safety and Private Industry Sectors. Casey’s primary responsibilities are to lead the future growth of the CloudGavel business unit at Tyler.

In 2007-2008 Casey led the initiative for electronic warrants and criminal documents in the State of Louisiana then went on to create the nation’s first electronic warrant system known today as CloudGavel.

Casey is a member and Chair of both the IJIS Institute’s Justice and Public Safety Advanced Analytics Committee and CJIS Committee. He is also a participating member of the National Sheriff’s Associations Emerging Technologies Committee. He is a graduate of Tulane University, from which he holds a degree in IT Integration and Corporate Finance.

Terry Derrick

Terry Derrick is the General Manager for Courts in Tyler Technologies’ Courts & Justice Division, where he leads the Courts, Jury, Electronic Warrants, Electronic Discovery, Data Analytics, and Data Partners business lines.

With over 20 years at Tyler, he has held key roles including General Manager of eSolutions and Operations Director, managing projects from small county deployments to large-scale statewide implementations. Among his major accomplishments are founding “Tyler University,” the company’s internal training and online learning platform, and overseeing eFileTexas, one of Tyler’s largest implementations.

Terry holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University and has completed executive leadership development at Stanford University.
