UX Designer

The User Experience Designer is responsible for maintaining the usability of Tyler applications. They defines the way our product looks, the way it works, how it’s organized, and how it fits into our users’ environment. They are responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, stakeholder interviews and translating our users’ business processes into wireframes, mockups and prototypes. They design the overall functionality of the product and iterate upon it to ensure an intuitive and elegant user experience.

  • Translate concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Facilitate Tyler’s product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Create prototypes which communicate the vision for an end product to executives and clients.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
  • Communicate rationale behind a user experience direction.
  • Lead user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs.
  • Collaborate with teams comprised of developers, business analysts and stakeholders.
  • Provide valuable insight into user interface design best practices.
  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas.


  • BS/BA or Associates degree in user interface design or equivalent.
  • Four or more years of UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for back office products.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and an understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Expertise with prototyping tools such as Invision, Axure or Sketch.
  • Exposure to Agile Methodology and practices.
  • Exposure to Angular/Material design a plus.
  • Basic understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
