The Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating and managing multifaceted campaigns promoting Tyler's Civic Services’ applications for the purposes of enhancing brand awareness and Tyler market share. This includes determining appropriate campaign tactics, writing well researched copy, providing creative concepts to internal teams, and managing the development of initiatives to completion.

This role will be responsible for implementing marketing programs and events, both traditional and digital. You will manage webinars and implement marketing strategies to promote them as well as create content such as, blogs, web copy, newsletters, email communications, social media campaigns, ad copy, and more. You will need to understand how to position and promote our software solutions to government professionals in order to help convert prospects into leads.

  • Develop innovative ways to communicate marketing messages via integrated marketing programs that include direct mail, email, web, video, collateral, and that support trade shows and events.
  • Write copy for all of the above in a manner that is audience appropriate, impactful, and that follows writing and SEO best practices.
  • Ensure marketing messaging is consistent and drives the key messages in an impactful way.
  • Interact with Sales or other internal clients, as appropriate, in order to determine requirements that meet campaign objectives.
  • Apply a metric-driven approach to marketing campaigns and learn to optimize and adjust tactics based on results.
  • Maintain and manage project schedules, approvals and other project-related needs utilizing the Marketing Department’s online project management software.
  • Obtain product or service information by interviewing, or requesting such information from necessary parties including internal division subject matter experts, or clients.
  • As requested, develop product fact sheets, case studies, newsletter articles, advertising, and other materials.


  • Minimum of 3-5 years marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of and experience with a variety of types of marketing communications vehicles – including email, social media, direct mail, collateral, video, web, and tradeshows
  • Experience effectively managing a variety of marketing projects and timelines, with close attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills and experience; knowledge of AP style
  • Ability to incorporate customer needs and client perspectives into communications
  • Ability to effectively work with subject matter experts across the group’s various verticals
  • Capacity to stay abreast of industry and marketing best practices, trends, ideas, tools, and technology
  • Project management skills
  • Macintosh or PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Marketo preferred
  • An understanding of graphic applications, image/media files, web media/interactive marketing, etc.
  • A positive attitude with a desire to go above and beyond expectations is key to the success of this role
  • Willing to apply a mindset of, “I don’t know, but I can figure it out” when faced with challenges
  • Technology/software industry experience strongly preferred; public sector experience preferred

State Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements for Colorado, Connecticut, and Nevada

Salary will generally fall between $46,185 - $60,770 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
