The Account Representative is responsible for ‘inside’ sales and growth of the EnerGov software products and services in which installed clients of the Tyler-EnerGov software are managed.

The Account Representative is a subject matter expert for the Tyler-EnerGov software product and is expected to mature assigned installed clients in an effort to obtain sales growth objectives in which successfully meet or exceed a sales quota.

The Account Representative has a direct impact on Tyler's revenue. The Account Representative must offer solutions to existing clients that involve the EnerGov software or value-added service and be exceptionally successful with following through to a successful sale of the solution.

Today’s installed client is considered a potential reference for Tyler so the more leveraged the client is with the Tyler-EnerGov software and value-added solutions, the more return the client (and Tyler) should receive.

Work with our solutions that enable new businesses to safely build, open their doors, and stay in compliance. Our solutions facilitate community development, business management regulation, and code compliance while supporting fire prevention and structural safety.

  • Serve as the lead sales point of contact for live, assigned EnerGov clients as it relates to account growth in both product and service needs.

  •  Develop trusted advisor relationships with assigned accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors to advise on best practices and maturing/expanding and growth opportunities that would drive additional business for Tyler-EnerGov.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.

  • Provide a diligent and consultative approach to influencing (selling) and expanding EnerGov footprint for existing EnerGov clients.

  • Meets (or exceeds) a pre-set annual quota of software/subscriptions sold.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


The Account Representative must be able to:

  • Leverage knowledge of Tyler’s products and services and knowledge of existing clients to successfully improve Tyler’s products and services footprint within assigned installed accounts.
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff as well as installed clients.
  • Show professionalism when dealing with all aspects of internal and external relationships.
  • 25% - 30% travel.
  • Extreme diligence in following up and managing an installed account sales cycle(s).
  • Show professionalism when dealing with all aspects of internal and external relationships.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Previous and advanced level EnerGov and domain experience. 

  • Must possess a competitive drive and results-oriented approach.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills. Public speaking experience a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter in addition to a team player.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and employees required.
  • Must possess general computer (PC) literacy and proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
