The Technical Project Manager serves a wide range of internal and external clients crossing all Tyler-Plano software products. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing on technical requirements for Hosted related projects. Clients, sales representatives, project managers, technical services, and support managers rely upon the Technical Project Manager for coordination of technical activities to complete Hosted related infrastructure projects for new and existing customers.

  • Works with the Corp. Hosting IT teams, as well as Tyler Technical Services teams to become familiar with contract requirements, application architecture, performance requirements, support requirements, program modifications, and other build requirements, schedules, and special considerations.
  • Coordinates infrastructure delivery, installation, and deployment for Tyler Hosted C&J contracts.
  • Conduct planning sessions with the C&J and Hosting staff to create plans for installs, upgrades, and migrations of C&J customers
  • Monitor progress of projects to ensure compliance with the project plan and immediately notify affected parties of any schedule changes.
  • Coordinate with project managers, support representatives and other departments when applicable.
  • Obtain regular feedback from Professional Services contacts regarding project status and quality of service and take immediate corrective action as required.
  • Manage the team’s project schedules to maximize performance and delivery.
  • Monitor the hosting operations team schedule to maximize performance and deliveriables.
  • When needed, participate in troubleshooting and outage scenarios and provide technical support and feedback to resolve issues.
  • Responds to requests for infrastructure requirements submitted from Sales, Professional Services, and Client Success teams.
  • Prepares and send quotes, respond to RFPs, and purchase agreements to clients, sales staff, and other internal resources
  • Respond to client requests for Hosted infrastructure and recommendations while working with the client to achieve those recommendations.
  • Respond to client or internal staff requests for system architectural design.
  • Participates in Sales Demo for technical requirements of Tyler Software Products when needed

The Technical Project Manager must be able to:

  • Attain knowledge of the system and peripheral requirements of all Tyler-Plano software products.
  • Demonstrate ability to make system and peripherals recommendations that take into consideration existing network and systems environment while meeting the requirements of Tyler software products.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, thorough, and able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Ability to interact professionally with highly technical and non-technical internal and external clients in order to plan and coordinate build services and other technical needs for Hosted customers.
  • Constantly be in a mode to participate, recommend, and assist other team members.
  • Complete tasks with minimal direction.
  • Work with peers and senior management across multiple teams to plan and coordinate resource requirements and scheduling.
  • Demonstrate excellent partnering, communicating, and negotiating skills in order to gather client system requirements and communicate effectively with clients, Professional Services, Support, and Technical Services staff.
  • Multi-task in a fast paced environment with the ability to calmly adapt and adjust to competing priorities.
  • Manage multiple activities for multiple business units simultaneously without missing critical deadlines.
  • Achieve results without having direct control of the resources and be able to leverage these results across internal and external departments.
  • Build rapport with business units and other IT departments while actively influencing events and negotiating changes to achieve project goals.
  • Incorporate new information, make quick decisions, and keep the appropriate people informed of rapidly occurring developments.
  • Demonstrate good time management, organizational skills and work independently or in a team.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT Project Management, or related field, or comparable work experience.
  • Three to five years’ general IT System Administrator experience, with focus on Windows Server.
  • Solid and proven  technical project management experience essential.
  • Excellent planning, organizational skills and ability to follow-through until process are completed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical and non-technical information to various audiences including management.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good listening skills.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and persuasion skills.
  • Software life cycle and enterprise software knowledge a plus.
