Responsibilities

  • Identify potential hardware vendors and products suitable to meet the needs of Tyler Transportation’s product and service offerings.
  • Coordinate initial and ongoing procurements via an RFP process for hardware and related products.
  • Coordinate and conduct testing and validation of selected hardware and related products using both internal and contracted testing resources. (what about customer field testing?)
  • Work with product analysts and Development management to ensure compatibility between hardware and related products and Tyler software products.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal rollout of new hardware products, equipping implementation groups with all training and knowledge they required to define their implementation approach.
  • Facilitate external communications with hardware vendors regarding changes to hardware, expected timelines for new hardware related enhancements and impacts of hardware related changes on Tyler Drive and other future potential tablet solutions.
  • Assist internal customers (Telematics, Implementation, Sales, etc.) with existing hardware related issues experienced in the field
  • Work with external hardware providers when related issues are experienced
  • Facilitate rollout of new hardware versions and or new hardware vendors
  • Comminicate necessary hardware changes internally so that it can be disseminated to customers
  • Lead/maintain next-generation hardware requirements, collecting feedback internally and communicating with potential supplier (similar to “facilitate rollout of new HW”)
  • Work with Telematics group on best practices details to help improve processes around hardware
  • Educate internal departments on key information related to hardware (similar to above)
  • Work with Telematics Solutions Consultants to educate them on hardware as it relates to sales demos, documentation and schedules
  • Work with Tyler Drive Project Manager to receive feedback from the field
  • Communicate any key details necessary for successful hardware installations
  • Communicate any key details necessary for successful hardware installations
  • Occasional travel necessary to vendors, clients and tradeshows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Prior experience in mobile computing solutions, information technology and automotive technologies; Tyler software or related experience helpful.
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills involving sound decision making and effective resolutions.
  • Solid understanding of the challenges of mobile solutions deployment and use preferred.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills involving the ability to manage multiple work streams effectively.
  • Strong time management skills with proven track record of delivering successful results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills involving the ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical and non-technical information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team.
  • Ability to be effective in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally
