We are looking for a HR Manager to oversee, consult, and support an organization of approximately 500 team members and operate as a strategic business partner providing leadership for various talent, onboarding, process/policy, organizational, cultural, diversity & inclusion, compensation, employee relations, development, and related needs. This role involves a blend of managing and providing a full range of human resources services and support with our appraisal services, sales, and software implementation leaders on talent acquisition and onboarding, employee and manager development, performance coaching, compensation, benefits, culture, diversity, policy/process improvement and other HR support.

This position is in the Dayton Metropolitan Area accessible from Dayton, Cincinnati, and surrounding areas with an office space focused on ergonomics with a fitness center for our employees. Internal Tyler Technologies candidates from locations outside of Dayton area will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute on goals, objectives, people solutions and initiatives that support the company and division strategy and goals
  • Lead, influence and consult on policy and process changes involving creative problem solving for complex/unique issues and policy and procedure development and implementation
  • Build trusting partnerships and consult strategically with senior management and employees on a full range of HR areas.
  • Lead, oversee, contribute, and facilitate with training and development, competency development, succession/talent review, 360s, individual development planning, career paths, performance management, rewards/recognition, employee engagement, etc.
  • Oversee and manage performance management activities/tools that promotes high performance
  • Consult and contribute on organizational structure and workforce planning
  • Perform compensation analysis and consult on findings involving training and developing managers and HR team in compensation philosophy, supporting business case development, and related items
  • Develop and communicate incentive, commission, and other plans taking into account relevant considerations and business/talent needs
  • Collect data, review, interpret and respond strategically to data analytics addressing risks and opportunities
  • Guide and support clients through various types of engagement and other initiatives that promotes diversity and our culture and further embed our values
  • Contribute, investigate, consult, and train various levels of management on employee relations items with various levels of complexity including the most complex issues
  • Partner with recruitment and other team members to collaborate on talent acquisition, interviewing, onboarding, affirmative action, background adjudications, immigration, culture, diversity, and related activities
  • May involve performing direct HR generalist support to one or more departments
  • Oversee, mentor, train and develop direct report(s)
  • Project Lead, consult, and/or collaborate with colleagues across the Appraisal and Tax division and other Tyler divisions on various projects and initiatives such as best practices and process improvement, HR related systems/tools, diversity & inclusion, etc.
  • Consult and assist with administering programs such as workers compensation, separations, FML/leaves of absence, benefits, unemployment claim handling, services awards
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal/compliance requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring compliance of employment laws and regulations
  • Provide overall HR support and solutions to support Canada team members in accordance with provincial employment standards and requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or related discipline; or equivalent work experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in human resources or related field
  • Prior experience mentoring, developing, delegating, motivating, and directly supervising others is required
  • PHR or SHRM-CP or SPHR or SHRM- SCP Certification is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge and experience of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to the human resource function (such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.); ability to learn and apply provincial employment standards in Canada.
  • Strong customer service, business acumen, strategic partnering, relationship building, interpersonal, collaboration, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills including a keen attention to detail and multi-tasking and project leadership skills including experience leading projects full life cycle involving prioritizing and managing multiple projects and work streams timely and simultaneously
  • Strong learning agility with proven ability to remain calm and flexible under pressure and in an ever-changing environment
  • Strong research, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills demonstrating the ability to think strategically
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to identify trends and influence business decisions with data and optimal solutions
  • Prior experience creating and/or improving HR processes to promote efficiency and effectiveness
  • Outstanding presentation, written and verbal communication skills with the prior experience consulting successfully with employees and various levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly collaborative and motivated with the proven ability to lead team(s) as well as independently achieve goals successfully
  • Proficient with MS Office experience and HR systems and tools
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and a positive, team oriented and collaborative environment.
  • For Dayton-based candidates some non-local travel is required such as for client meetings, conferences, business meetings, etc. at approximately 4 times per year; for non-Dayton based internal candidates travel is anticipated to be perhaps 1-2 times per quarter depending on business needs.
