The NIC Division of Tyler Technologies, the nation’s premier provider of innovative digital government solutions and secure payment processing is currently seeking a Security Analyst for our corporate security team located at our corporate headquarters in Olathe, KS.

Summary

The Security Analyst will be responsible for the review of security assessment evidence submitted NIC Business Units in response to NIC security test plans, third-party security assessments and Regulatory assessments to ensure evidence is appropriate, accurate and complete. This includes working closely with the NIC Security Assessment development team to provide feedback in improving the assessment processes. This position will work with the NIC Corporate Security scanning tools team to assist in all vulnerability, sensitive data, and policy compliance scanning activities to ensure these activities ae configured to meet all security controls objectives. The individual will be expected to have an overall knowledge of industry security best practices, security frameworks, and security assessment tools. The successful candidate must be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a strong customer experience focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review Security Audit evidence submitted by NIC Business Units for adherence to Corporate Security Policy and Security Authorization documents.
  • Assist in performing onsite and remote Security Audits and Assessments of NIC Business Units against Corporate Policies, standards and industry requirements and report findings.
  • Work with NIC Business Units to develop templates for submitting security controls evidence. 
  • Contribute in planning, architecture, implementation, documentation and maintenance of security assessment program.
  • Provide support to Analysts managing Network Vulnerability Scanning Process, Sensitive Data Discovery Process, and Database Security Scanning process for all NIC Business Units.
  • Support Corporate Security Team Management with Security related matters.
  • Assist in non-assessment security information gathering from NIC Business Units
  • Contribute to Corporate Security Policy Development.
  • Assist in the development of Security Awareness program.
  • Provide departmental support in incident response activities.
  • On call and after hours duties.

  

Experience / Education

  •  1-3 years’ experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent work experience.
  • Possesses both technical and non-technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to conceptualize, plan, develop and deliver a variety of creative solutions.
  • Demonstrates proficiency within their knowledge of industry specifics, including security best practices, Payment Card Industry, and Industry Security Standard Frameworks.
  • Basic understanding of NIST Controls Framework, FISMA and PCI Requirements.
  • Knowledge in how to use Security Scanning tools.
  • Understanding of UNIX (Linux, Solaris, etc) and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • A good understanding of the Internet, both applications and TCP/IP protocols
  • Excellent communication skills, including good verbal and written abilities
  • Strong organizational, prioritization skills
  • Self-motivated and strong sense of accountability

State Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements for Colorado, Connecticut, and Nevada

Salary will generally fall between $51,000 - $72,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
