Our Cloud Services Team DBA is responsible for the overall deployment, management and maintenance of information databases and web servers used to operate Tyler central applications. The DBA will also partner with technical groups to ensure that database performance is not hindered and performance standards adhere to service level agreements set with the enterprise.

  • Partner with IT and application teams to design data management and governance protocols, manage the information lifecycle, design infrastructure and data integration controls
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements in order to increase application efficiency, capacity and responsiveness to users.
  • Design, configure, implement, and administer all databases for the respective parties involved
  • Develop and maintain complex models and logical database designs
  • Identify and resolve all issues related to database systems to ensure that systems are online and without service interruption
  • Design, configure, implement, and administer IIS web farm instances and components
  • Build and manage the database disaster recovery and backup plan
  • Develop new and enhance existing standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for database environments using industry experiences, best practices research, and business needs
  • Analyze and report the performance of database operations against the key database performance metrics
  • Meet performance standards in accordance to service level agreements set by the company
  • Manage small applications projects as directed, including the coordination of test and deployment efforts with customers, teammates, and leaders across the business areas.


This position plays a prominent role in all technical and design aspects of the Tyler shared application database environment. This requires a strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Microsoft networking, routing, firewalls, TCP/IP, Microsoft IIS, remote connectivity, Microsoft ADS, and other skills acquired as needed. Must be able to acquire and apply this knowledge on the fly to find timely solutions to problems with the application environment
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field, or comparable work experience
  • Typically requires 4+ years with Microsoft SQL database administration in a corporate environment
  • The following certifications  or equivalent are helpful: 70-432: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance or 70-433: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development or 70-448: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance
  • Proficient with relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access)
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL 2005 and later
  • In-depth knowledge of T-SQL and SRSS/SISS
  • Experience in designing and implementing database structures
  • Experience with automating DBA tasks
  • Experience with data modeling and schema design
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions
  • Can anticipate risks and mitigate in the moment
  • Comfortable under high-stress and exhibits poise and focus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills


State Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements for Colorado, Connecticut, and Nevada

Salary will generally fall between $73,113 - $100,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
