The Training Specialist designs develops and facilitates training for internal employees, including new hire and ongoing education. This position requires the ability to build training content based on research and thorough needs analysis following adult education principles.

Work with our innovative software solutions that help local government and school districts centralize data and connect their organizations. By working to develop and support our financial management solutions, you can help integrate our solutions with human resources, revenue management, tax billing, and asset management.

  • ​Develops training materials, including outline, facilitator guide, participant guide, job aids, training exercises, and assessments/tests.
  • Facilitates using a variety of methods in both instructor-led (ILT) and virtual instructor-led (VILT) environments.
  • Evaluates and documents employee performance during training to ensure accuracy and understanding.
  • Utilizes the LMS to compile training records and evaluations for training sessions.
  • Keeps up to date on new software functionality and facilitates sessions on new features.
  • Keeps domain knowledge current.
  • Utilizes adult learning theory principles for curriculum design and delivery.
  • Updates and maintains existing training materials to ensure product updates are included and that practices reflect those currently used in the field. 
  • Works with Implementation and Support staff to identify areas where additional training could improve performance.
  • Works with Support to identify areas where clients need stronger training. Uses this information to modify the curriculum and methods to improve effectiveness.
  • Follows documented Tyler Technologies, Inc. policies and procedures. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Incode Utility Billing software experience necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, accounting, business administration, or comparable work experience in: 
    • Training proprietary software applications
    • Instructional design for software applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, presentation, and analytical/problem-solving skills 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and virtual training software.
  • Strong collaborations skills to work across departments.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Approximately 10-25 % travel required
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
