Primary responsibility is for the development and execution of test plans that result in the release of high quality software to the Odyssey user base.

  • Document and execute black box testing
  • Compose manual and automated test scripts for new functionality
  • Develop test cases associated with the functional requirements for a project
  • Execute test cases and document the results of those test executions
  • Test software during integration, release and regression phases and document results
  • Review the work produced by other members of the functional analysis team
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the application in assigned areas – liaison to development, release management and support.
  • Serve as third tier support and assist the documentation team with release notes
  • Participate in several aspects of the development life cycle, including functional design, construction and testing
  • Contribute to the improvement of the test and application definition processes
  • Identify system constraints, implications, and consequences of various system changes in areas of product ownership
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.


  • BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent technology experience.
  • 1-4 years of Software QA testing experience required.
  • 1-4 years of QA testing experience in creating, managing, and executing functional testing including quality assurance methods and testing required.
  • 1+ years of defect tracking software experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices, procedures and software development lifecycle required.
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and associated methodologies required.
  • Solid understanding of web based technologies, web services and testing strategies.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively work with clients’ business requirements and issues.
  • General experience or knowledge of relational database concepts, software design concepts, and database modeling preferred.
  • General understanding of the software applications/tools and/or the business processes related to local county government preferred.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and queries preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile SCRUM preferred.
  • Automated testing experience a plus.
  • Understanding of judicial concepts/processes, local and county government business processes a plus.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Windows and Office experience required.
  • 1-4 years of experience planning and executing Black Box and White Box testing of internally-developed applications preferred.
  • TestRail knowledge a plus
  • Leapwork knowledge a plus
